Going out for supper on a Monday night always seems a bit of an indulgence but exactly what you need to kick off the week, particularly when it’s suddenly autumn. And good to find @1yorkplace_bristol in top form. Potato beignets with anchovy mayo, whipped smoked cods roe with radishes, fried oysters with harissa, a gorgeously gooey burrata and lobster linguine, all shared which kept both the calorie intake and the cost down! Really good wines by the glass too including a delicious glass of @weingutchristophbauer gemischter schatz, a field blend of different grape varieties. So lucky to have this round the corner. Congrats @freddybirdfood and team for creating such a consistently excellent place. (#paidfor in case you are wondering!) #eatlocal #bristolfood #lobster #snacksAs soon as I spotted that @mark_diacono had a recipe for pasta with runner beans in his glorious new book Abundance I knew I had to make it and it absolutely does my favourite summer vegetable justice. I also added - cos I agree with Mark it’s not quite the right recipe for Parmesan - a little air-fried halloumi which adds a bit of pleasingly salty cheesy crunch. And washed it down with a glass of Albariño. Well done, Mark. A really lovely, hugely readable book.
